Individualized Health Analytics and Software for Estimating the Etiology of Infection and Predicting Susceptibility to Treatment

Case ID:
C13780
Disclosure Date:
8/14/2015
This work will produce statistical models, methods, and open-source software for quantifying: 1. susceptibility: for a given set of individual and hospital characteristics, estimate an individual's probability distribution that her infection is susceptible to a given antibiotic averaged over all of the possible bacterial causes. 2. etiology: for a given set of characteristics of the patient and hospital, estimate an individual's probability distribution that her infection is caused by each of the candidate bacterium 3. conditional susceptibility given pathogen: for a given set of characteristics of the patient and hospital, estimate the probability distribution that the bacterium causing the infection will be susceptible to each of the competing antibiotics.
