Nurses, like other professionals, require education on screening patients for alcohol abuse and coaching for brief alcohol interventions. Without the proper tools in hand, nurses may miss an opportunity to identify and intervene at a pivotal point in a patients stay.  
 
 
Technical Overview:                
Faculty at Johns Hopkins University and University of Pittsburgh have collaborated in creating 13 self-paced online educational modules to educate nursing staff and other populations on alcohol screening and intervention techniques. Videos, questions and assessment tools are included in the learning modules.
