C03847: R-3327-AT6.1
Technical Details:
Somatic cell hybrids created from highly metastatic rat prostatic cancer cells and human chromosome 11 were created using micro cell-mediated chromosome transfer. The introduction of human chromosome 11 into the highly metastatic rat prostate cancer cells suppressed the metastatic ability of the cells without suppression of the in vivo growth rate or tumorigenicity of the hybrid cells.
Looking for Partners:
The cell line described in this invention can be used to pinpoint tumor suppressor genes on human chromosome 11. The cell line may also be used to screen for drugs that target the human tumor suppressor genes expressed. Such drugs can potentially be used as chemotherapeutic or chemopreventive agents for prostate cancer.
