C04918: MEK KO Lines for Drug Discovery
Technical Details:
MEK knockout in human colorectal cancer cell line HCT116.
Looking for Partners:
MAP kinase/ERK kinase (MEK) is the specific activator of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) and is part of a signaling pathway with a pivotal role in the control of cellular proliferation. The cell line described in this invention can be used in screens for novel molecules that target central pathway in human cancer cells or to confirm the specificity of drugs discovered through other approaches. Such drugs can potentially be used for chemotherapeutic or chemopreventative agents.
