C11897: N-Terminus FLAG tag on DNMT1
Case ID:
C11897
Report of Invention:
2/15/2012
Web Published:
10/7/2014
Technical Details:
DNA methyldtransferase1 (DNMT1) is a maintenance methyltransferase enzyme; additional roles for DNMT1 in gene expression are not understood clearly. DNMT1 is shown to have repressive activity, and deletion of its catalytic domain does not abolish this activity. In this study Johns Hopkins researchers examine the repressor function of catalytically inactive DNMT1 by generating this technology consisting of wtDNMT1 and catalytically inactive DNMT1 constructs with N-terminal FLAG tag inserts cloned into a pEF1á IRES-puro vector.
Looking for Partners:
To develop and commercialize this technology as a research tool to investigate DNMT1’s role in a normal cell and metastatic cell.
