C12022: High-Efficiency Radiology Software SuiteNovelty:
A new web-based environment for managing radiology cases. Also allows for easy sharing of information with colleagues.
Value Proposition:
The workflow of radiologists is demanding, requiring the selection of appropriate images that accompany their reports. These images are critical in recording an accurate history of any important findings. Radiologists also need to be able to easily access cases of images to be shared at conferences or in publications. Unfortunately, current tools are not well suited to accomplish all these tasks in the same program. This technology provides not only an easier format for organizing images of interest, but also additional tools for receiving case feedback. Other advantages include:
• Works with existing Cases.
• Ability to create training cases and improve quality.
• Easy sorting functionality.
• Able to create groups and share case data
Technical Details:
Johns Hopkins researchers have developed a new software platform for radiologists to perform a number of work tasks. A web portal is used to access an existing Radiology Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and generate images. These can then be used in various tasks such as writing reports, obtaining visuals for presentations and publications, or even crating training material. Social networking-type tools are also provided to efficiently share information at the same institution and obtain other opinions.
Looking for Partners:
To develop & commercialize the technology as a new product in the Radiology Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System PACS (RIS-PACS) market.
