Value Proposition:
1. Unique cell line
2. Immortalized and easy to propagate
3. Retains certain characteristics of endothelial cells
Details:
Leukocyte-endothelial cell interactions regulate the entry of lymphocytes into tissues. This interaction occurs in lymphoid tissues and at inflammatory sites at high endothelial venules, specialized endothelia that differ from the flat endothelial cells lining most blood vessels. SV40 transformation of endothelial cells derived from mouse lymph node stroma has yielded a cell line, SVEC4-10, that retains a number of morphological and functional characteristics of high endothelium, but is easy to propagate under a variety of conditions.
