RCAN1 Antibody

Case ID:
C14041

TITLE

RCAN1 Antibody

CASE NUMBER

C14041

ABSTRACT

Regulator of calcineurin 1 (RCAN1) belongs to a family of endogenous calcineurin inhibitors that are highly conserved from yeast to humans. RCAN1 expression is enriched in tissues that are particularly vulnerable in Down syndrome, including the nervous system, heart and skeletal muscle, and its levels are significantly elevated in individuals with Down syndrome and mouse models.

FEATURES

This is a polyclonal antibody that recognizes the RCAN1 protein. This antibody has been used in western blotting and immunofluorescence to recognize RCAN1 protein in rat sympathetic neurons.

The antibody was raised against the FLISP motif that is common in RCAN1 protein in humans, rats, and mice. The antigen was a peptide that was injected into a rabbit and the resulting serum was extracted. This serum is directly diluted to be used in experimental procedures.
