Interferon-gamma Release Assays for Diagnosis of Invasive Fungal Infections
Case ID:
C12607
Report of Invention:

Web Published:

Some invasive fungal infections that are problematic to humans are those that are difficult to diagnose. This is particularly true when fungal antigens are hard to detect and/or culture does not reveal the cause of infection. We have developed assays to detect infection with pathogenic fungi by measuring release of interferon-gamma by the infected host upon cell exposure to specific microbial antigens.
