Simplified pn-junction design for photovoltaics and sensors not requiring top transparent or patterned electrodes

Case ID:
C11693
Disclosure Date:
9/26/2011
This invention describes utilizing particular semiconducting materials metallic surface states to provide electrical conduction on the surface of a pn-junction. The invention allows for collection of charges from electron-hole pair separation processes in photovoltaics and sensors without requiring the use of transparent or patterned electrical contacts.
