We have designed a set of m-health applications that rapidly identify, link, and engage persons into TB care. Currently, reporting processes for TB are delayed and often require the healthcare worker to sift through multiple piles of paperwork. With this set of applications, a primary health care nurse or doctor can see the results in real-time directly on the application. Staff can then contact the patient and link them to TB care. The ordering clinician can then see that the patient has TB and they can begin treating the patient and know if/when the case has been linked to an appropriate site. The clinician will even know when treatment was started for their patient if rifampicin resistant TB. We will also be able to text (SMS) the patient with negative results that their TB test was clear as well as provide reminders of follow-up visits for those with TB.
