Unmet Need
Although stereoscopy has been commercially developed and has found wide acceptance through the US and Europe, it requires extensive and potentially cost-prohibitive computational hardware and also potentially limited for imaging featureless surfaces.
Technology Overview
This technology is a simple and cost-effective 3-D endoscope based on structured illumination technique. The system is calibrated and validated for quantitative depth measurement in both static and dynamic samples. The demonstrated setup affirms the feasibility for depth qantization and assisting medical diagnostic decisions.
